I think it would be good to try out SynthV's free demo. I think if you like a vocal enough, you will put in work to make it sound good.
Some people say that certain Vocaloids are beginner friendly and fight endlessly about which is easier, because some Vocaloids have wonked up phoneme combinations (the individual sounds available in the language). They are available on sonicwire for digital purchase (though more expensive packaged versions exist). You can buy, for example, Miku's English voicebank only, or only her Japanese ones, or get V4X to get both. Kaito and Meiko are V3 and come with Tiny Vocaloid Editor 3 included (it's got limited number of tracks you can create, I think.) Miku, Len/Rin, and Luka V4 come with Piapro (Crypton's version of Vocaloid Editor) and a DAW called Studio One for creating background music and running Piapro in. I would recommend instead buying a boxed version of a Vocaloid you like that comes with a boxed version of Vocaloid4 Editor through Ebay or another website like that so you only have to spend around $100-$200 and aren't forced to buy 4-8 Vocaloids you don't care about (Amy, Ken, Kaori and the gang I mentioned).Ĭrypton Vocaloids come with their own editor. (Older versions of Vocaloid Editor are friendly with any computer.)
Vocaloid5 is also kind of hard on old computers, it requires at least 4 GB of memory. So after getting through that paywall just to get Vocaloid5 Editor alone, THEN you would have to buy your favorite Vocaloids (adding around $80-$100 more to the price). So your parents would have to be on board for spending at minimum $225. You HAVE to buy Vocaloid5 Editor Standard ($225: comes with Chris, Amy, Ken, Kaori included) or Vocaloid5 Editor Premium ($360 for the 4 Vocaloids I mentioned + Cyber Diva, Cyber Songman, VY1, and VY2). V5 has a huge "paywall" now preventing newcomers. Vocaloid 5 came out last year, so Yamaha won't let you buy Vocaloid Editor 4 from them anymore. You can't just buy a Vocaloid, you have to buy an editor as well to use them in. What do you guys think? is utau a good idea or should i splurge on a vocaloid made for beginners? Tldr: i’m interested in vocaloid as a hobby and i want to make covers of popular songs, but i’m afraid of wasting money in something i have no experience in so i think using utau is a good start. my computer runs pretty normal, but it can get slow and laggy if i open to many windows and tabs.
VOCALOID 3 EDITOR TRIAL DRIVER
i don’t have a lot stuff downloaded other than spotify, a drawing program called krita, the driver of my graphics tablet, and some random pictures.

i also don’t really know how i’m gonna explain vocaloid to my parents and why i would but some random japanese product (i know it’s not exclusively japanese but that’s what i’m mainly i treasured in).Īs for my computer (if that’s important in anyway), it runs on the 64-bit version of windows 8, but i might update it to windows 10.

i know that there are vocaloids out there that are made for beginners like fukase, but i’m a bit skeptical about them and plus he’s still over $100. since utau is free, i think it would be a good way to get a glimpse of working with vocaloid and too see if i actually like working with such programs. i feel like if i go ahead and buy my first voicebank, i’ll get frustrated and abondon it, thus wasting my parents’ $100+. However, i don’t have any experience in this kind of software, and not to mention the hefty price tag (at least for a high school student) of most of the voicebanks. i’ll probably end up using the crypton 6 plus a few others that i personally like. nothing too major, i just want it to be a small hobby.
VOCALOID 3 EDITOR TRIAL SOFTWARE
i definitely won’t be starting my journey anytime soon, but i guess it wouldn’t hurt to ask.īut anyway, i’m starting to like vocaloid again and i’m interested in using the software to make covers of popular songs. Before we get to the question, i apologize if this doesn’t really fit the sub, i honestly have no idea where to post.
